ABOUT Dr. Matthew Lilley

Matthew Lilley, MD is a board certified orthopedic sports medicine surgeon who is sub-specialty trained in the evaluation and treatment of advanced shoulder and knee injuries and conditions. A native of Central Oregon, he became interested in medicine at a young age after working on a hay farm in Tumalo with a local general surgeon. His early experiences and desire to help people shaped the way he practices medicine today. He takes the time to understand his patients and their backgrounds, learn about what motivates them to get back outdoors, and then develops a treatment plan to return them to their previous activities and fitness. In his practice, he particularly enjoys minimally invasive shoulder arthroscopy, complex rotator cuff repair, and knee ligament reconstruction, in addition to robotic knee replacement.

Dr. Lilley is thrilled to be practicing medicine in his hometown and thoroughly enjoys his practice at The Center. He has a passion for the outdoors and spending time outside with his wife and son. Outside of work, he enjoys backpacking, skiing, and distance running. Dr. Lilley is also an instrument rated pilot and has appreciated the opportunity to fly to regional clinics in Central and Eastern Oregon and provide care to patients around our state.

TESTIMONIALS

“I was riding on my Harley-Davidson Road King with my 11-year-old daughter when an automobile suddenly pulled out and crashed into us. Luckily, my daughter was fine, but I had a dislocated shoulder, injured knee, and broken leg after the accident. Dr. Lilley repaired the damage and I decided to get all of my joint replacements done within the year. My goal was to ride motorcycles again and Dr. Lilley and his care team were there to help me do that.” – Mike Franchescina

“I had an issue with my right shoulder, a torn rotator cuff. I saw Dr. Matthew Lilley and my experience was incredible. He is a compassionate, intelligent man who cared for me. I had surgery done on my shoulder and I cannot believe the skills and gifts of this man because I now have my arm back with 360 degrees of motion. I have no issues in my shoulder now, which was a mess before because I played baseball for a long time, and it destroyed my shoulder. Dr. Lilley cared for me as a patient and a person, and I’m blessed to have him in my life as a physician and friend. I can’t say enough nice things about Dr. Lilley. If you get him, you get the best.” – Patrick Jordan, former Summit High School Baseball Coach

“Overall, my entire experience with The Center and Dr. Lilley has been fantastic. I broke my clavicle skiing in late 2017, and Dr. Lilley and his team have been all OVER it since then. With a little bit of weight lifting and rehab, I will be 100% back to normal in a couple of weeks, I am completely amazed and have Dr. Lilley to thank! Plus, my scar is going to be pretty darn cool.”

“Dr. Lilley is very friendly with a smiling face. Professional and caring. I am very pleased with him and recommend him as well.”
